Official Contest Rules and Regulations

The contest is sponsored and administered by Windsor Mitsubishi, 1622 Sylvestre Drive, Windsor, Ontario, N9K 0B9.

Windsor Ribfest and its event organizers are not responsible for administering the contest or providing the prize unless otherwise stated.

The contest will take place during Windsor Ribfest at Devonshire Mall parking lot, 3100 Howard Ave, Windsor, ON.

Contest date: Saturday, August 29, 2026. Contest time: 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. All times are Eastern Time.

Online registration opens on August 7, 2026, and closes on August 23, 2026.

Participants must complete the official online registration form and provide all required information. Completing a registration form does not guarantee a place in the contest.

Only 16 participant spots are available. Spots will be offered to the first 16 eligible individuals who submit complete and valid registrations, subject to verification by Windsor Mitsubishi.

Windsor Mitsubishi may maintain a waiting list. If a confirmed participant withdraws, fails to complete the required forms or does not arrive by the check-in deadline stated in their confirmation, the available position may be offered to an eligible person on the waiting list.

Participant positions cannot be sold, transferred, assigned or given to another person.

Confirmed participants must arrive and complete check-in no later than 12:45 p.m., at least 15 minutes before the contest begins at 1:00 p.m. Participants who arrive after the check-in deadline will forfeit their spot and will not be permitted to participate.

The contest is open to legal residents of Ontario who:

• Are at least 18 years old at the time of registration
• Complete the official registration form
• Receive confirmation that they have been accepted as one of the 16 participants
• Sign all required acknowledgements, waivers, releases and consent forms
• Attend the contest and complete check-in before the stated deadline
• Follow these Official Rules and all instructions from contest staff
• Employees, officers, directors and representatives of Windsor Mitsubishi are not eligible to participate.
• Members of the household or immediate family of a Windsor Mitsubishi employee are also not eligible.
• Windsor Mitsubishi may require government-issued photo identification to verify a participant’s age, identity and eligibility.

The contest vehicle will be a 2026 Mitsubishi Outlander owned by Windsor Mitsubishi.

The vehicle is used only as the object of the contest. The contest vehicle itself is not the prize.

At the direction of the contest judge, each participant must place the palm of one hand on an approved exterior area of the contest vehicle.

Participants must continuously maintain contact between one palm and the vehicle, except during an authorized break or official contest suspension.

The following rules apply:

1. Only the palm of one hand may be used to maintain contact.
2. Participants may reposition or slide their palm provided that continuous contact is maintained.
3. Participants may switch hands only with the permission and direct supervision of a contest judge.
4. During an approved hand switch, the replacement palm must make contact with the vehicle before the original palm is removed.
5. Except for the brief overlap required during an approved hand switch, participants may not use both hands to maintain contact.
6. Participants may not lean, sit, lie, rest or place their body weight against the vehicle.
7. Participants may not use the vehicle as physical support.
8. Participants may not use tape, straps, gloves, tools, clothing, equipment or any other object to maintain contact.
9. Another person may not touch the vehicle on behalf of a participant.
10. Participants cannot switch places, substitute another person or transfer their contest position.
11. Participants must remain in their assigned area unless directed otherwise by a judge.
12. Participants must wear their assigned contest wristband for the entire contest.

Remaining participants will receive one 10-minute break after every 90 minutes of active contest participation.

The anticipated break schedule is approximately 2:30 p.m., 4:10 p.m., 5:50 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The exact timing of each break will be determined and announced by the head judge.

During an authorized break, participants may use the washroom, sit down, eat or drink, attend to reasonable personal needs and receive basic first aid when necessary.

All remaining participants will begin and end each authorized break at the same time.

Participants must return to their assigned position and be ready to resume before the judge ends the break. Failure to return on time may result in elimination.

No individual or unofficial breaks are permitted. A participant who leaves the contest area outside an authorized break will be considered to have voluntarily withdrawn unless the departure was specifically directed by contest staff.

Contest staff may provide additional breaks or suspend the contest when reasonably necessary for health, safety, weather or emergency reasons.

Participants must behave respectfully and follow all reasonable instructions from contest judges, Windsor Mitsubishi representatives, Ribfest staff, security personnel and emergency personnel.

The following are prohibited:

• Alcohol or cannabis consumption during the contest
• Participating while impaired
• Aggressive, threatening or abusive conduct
• Harassment or discriminatory language
• Interfering with another participant
• Intentionally distracting another participant
• Receiving unauthorized assistance
• Damaging, scratching or marking the vehicle
• Refusing reasonable safety or contest instructions
• Creating a risk to any person or property
• Participants may encourage one another, but spectators and supporters may not physically assist a participant or interfere with the contest.

A participant may be eliminated for:

• Removing their palm from the vehicle outside an authorized break
• Failing to follow the hand-contact requirements
• Leaning, sitting, lying or resting against the vehicle
• Using an unauthorized object or support
• Switching hands without judge supervision
• Substituting or attempting to substitute another person
• Leaving the contest area without permission
• Failing to return from a break on time
• Interfering with another participant
• Receiving unauthorized assistance
• Damaging the contest vehicle
• Failing to follow staff or judge instructions
• Providing false or misleading registration information
• Violating these Official Rules
• Engaging in unsafe, aggressive or abusive conduct

A participant may voluntarily withdraw from the contest at any time.

Participants should not enter or continue participating if they cannot safely stand or remain outdoors for an extended period.

Windsor Mitsubishi may require a participant to stop participating if contest staff reasonably believe that continuing could create a health or safety risk.

Removal for health or safety reasons will be treated as an elimination, but participant safety will take priority over contest results.

Participants must immediately report any illness, injury, dizziness or other safety concern to contest staff.

If rain, severe weather, an emergency, an event interruption or another unsafe condition affects the contest, Windsor Mitsubishi may pause, suspend, relocate, postpone, shorten or cancel the contest.

If the contest is relocated, it is expected to resume at Windsor Mitsubishi, 1622 Sylvestre Drive, Windsor, Ontario, N9K 0B9.

Participants who remain eligible at the time of suspension will retain their eligibility, provided they follow the relocation and reporting instructions given by Windsor Mitsubishi.

Travel or relocation time will not count as active contest time.

Windsor Mitsubishi will provide a reasonable reporting period and safe relocation instructions. Participants must not rush, drive unsafely or disregard traffic laws when travelling to the dealership.

Windsor Mitsubishi is not responsible for a participant’s failure to follow relocation instructions or report within the communicated period.

There is only one winner.

If only one eligible participant remains before 9:00 p.m., that participant will be declared the potential winner.

If more than one eligible participant remains at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, the vehicle-touching portion of the contest will continue on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. If more than one eligible participant still remains at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, the remaining participants will complete a skill-based tie-breaker to determine the winner.

The tie-breaker will consist of the same written quiz for all finalists, featuring questions about general knowledge or Mitsubishi models.

If all remaining participants lose contact at substantially the same time and the judges cannot determine who remained eligible longest, those participants may also be required to complete the tie-breaker.

Before being confirmed as the winner, the potential winner may be required to correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question without assistance.

• Finalists will receive the same questions and time limit.
• Phones, internet access, notes and assistance are prohibited.
• The finalist with the highest number of correct answers will become the potential winner.
• If finalists remain tied, additional tie-breaking questions will be provided until a single potential winner is determined.

One prize is available. The prize consists of a $1,500 gift card redeemable at Mercato Fresh as the grand prize and a 55” Smart TV as the second prize.

The gift card is subject to the terms, conditions, restrictions and policies of the issuing business.

• Cannot be transferred to another person
• Cannot be exchanged for cash through Windsor Mitsubishi
• Must be accepted as awarded
• Has no cash value except as permitted by the gift card issuer
• Windsor Mitsubishi may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable for reasons outside its reasonable control.
• The potential winner must provide valid identification and sign any required winner declaration, release or prize-acceptance documents before receiving the prize.
• The prize will be awarded within a reasonable period following winner verification.

A maximum of 16 people may participate. The chances of winning depend on:

• The number of confirmed participants who attend
• Each participant’s ability to comply with the contest rules
• How long each participant maintains eligible contact with the vehicle
• The results of any required tie-breaker

The registration form may request:

• Full name
• Age
• Address
• Email address
• Emergency contact information
• Signature and date
• Confirmation that the participant accepts these Official Rules
• Personal information will be collected and used for contest registration, eligibility verification, participant communication, administration, safety, winner selection and prize delivery.
• Information collected for the contest will not automatically be used to subscribe participants to unrelated marketing communications unless the participant provides separate consent.
• Emergency contact information will be used only when reasonably necessary in connection with participant safety or an emergency.

The contest and Windsor Mitsubishi booth may be photographed, filmed or otherwise recorded.

By participating and signing the required consent and release forms, participants authorize Windsor Mitsubishi to use their name, image, voice, photograph and video footage in connection with:

• Contest coverage
• Windsor Mitsubishi social media
• Windsor Mitsubishi websites
• Dealership promotional materials
• Future marketing related to the event
• Participants will not receive additional compensation for an authorized use of this content.

Before participating, each confirmed participant must sign a separate waiver, release and acknowledgement form.

The form may include confirmation that the participant:

• Is voluntarily participating
• Understands the physical nature of the contest
• Has reviewed and accepts the Official Rules
• Accepts the ordinary risks associated with extended standing and outdoor participation
• Agrees to follow all safety instructions
• Authorizes emergency assistance when reasonably necessary
• Accepts the photography and video terms
• Releases the parties identified in the waiver to the extent permitted by law
• A participant who does not sign the required documents will not be permitted to participate.

Windsor Mitsubishi reserves the right to:

• Verify the eligibility and identity of any participant
• Reject incomplete, inaccurate or fraudulent registrations
• Disqualify anyone who tampers with the registration or contest process
• Remove anyone who violates these Official Rules
• Correct administrative, printing or technical errors
• Modify procedures when reasonably required for fairness or safety
• Suspend, relocate, postpone or cancel the contest due to circumstances outside its reasonable control
• Substitute the prize with one of equal or greater value if necessary
• Windsor Mitsubishi will make reasonable efforts to apply these Official Rules consistently and fairly.
• If promotional materials conflict with these Official Rules, these Official Rules will govern.
• The contest is subject to applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations.
• These Official Rules are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada.
• If any part of these Official Rules is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining sections will continue to apply.

By registering for or participating in the contest, each participant confirms that they:

• Have read and understood these Official Rules
• Meet the eligibility requirements
• Agree to follow all contest procedures
• Accept the decisions of the contest judges
• Understand that failure to follow the rules may result in elimination
